I'm thankful that I am relatively free. I am thankful for the often-subtle racism of NYC (vs. some other ish out there). I am thankful for all of my privilege. I am thankful for crisp cool water from my bathroom sink. I am thankful for working heat and hot water. I am thankful for this moment. I am thankful for all of the new things that I am learning, like the ability to compromise. I am thankful that spring will [eventually] come again.

Enjoying the Food On My Plate...

There is nothing like a complete meal. A fresh baby spinach and cucumber salad topped off with raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Followed by mango chutney-glazed salmon with brussels sprouts and brown rice. Finished with a slice of blueberry vegan cheescake (from the V-Spot). So rich, so filling, so healthy....so complete. I am being presented all three of those courses right now in my life–a budding career, spiritual balance and a wonderful man–and I am grateful. I welcome all of these blessings and will revel in them. There is no need to brood over a revelation of worms in the rotten apple that I once thought would sustain me...

Focusing on Joy...

Life is wonderful and the possibilities are endless. I am grateful for:
-kind and loving friends, who I'm learning to appreciate more
-tenacity that has created exciting opportunities
-beautiful blue skies
-the curl before the kink in each strand of my hair
-engaging books that offer new insight
-life-affirming people
-learning to let go
-patience, patience, patience
-moments of total clarity
-second chances

In the Morning of My Life

I am grateul for time and patience. I am constanly being faced with situations that demand my time and patience, two things that I usually lack. But I've never let anything totally disuade me, except for my own fear, which is subsiding these days. This has been an overwhelming spring and summer, as I have been blessed to welcome so many wonderful people into my life. Everyone has, in one way or another, affirmed my path.
